There’s a few nice AMD cpu with motherboard combo’s at Frys this weekend.  There seems to be one to meet any of your dual-core, triple, or quad-core needs, which is pretty sweet.  They’ve got a Dual-Core AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ with an ECS Geforce 7050M-M2 motherboard for $79.99.  Here’s the specs for the motherboard:

*supports DDR2, Sata2, and RAID
*has a PCI-E video card slot and on-board nvidia graphics
*6 Channel audio

For their Triple-COre offering, there’s the AMD Phenom 8450 processor with an ECS Geforce 7050M-M V2 motherboard for $119.99. For the specs, its got the following:

*also has a PCI-E video card slot, in addition to the on-board video

And for the Quad-Core bundle, they’ve got an AMD Phenom X4 9550 and an ECS Geforce 7050M-M2 for $139.99.  Same specs as previously mentioned in the dual-core combo for the motherboard.

If you really look it, you’re pretty much paying for the cpu and getting a free motherboard, so its not surprisingly a decent deal.  DDR2 ram is pretty cheap these days, so if you were in the market for an affordable upgrade, it would be pretty easy to get a quad core setup for 150 or 160ish bucks, depending on how much ram you get. These are in-store only as well, so just drop by your local Frys to check these out.

For any one in the market for a cheap ass LCD Tv, it’s lookin’ like Zellers might have a winner here: The Konka 32″ LCD TV, Model: KL32BS22U for $349!!  Theyre ain’t much information on Konka’s website about it. It could be that this one is an older model, but then again, every category that you try to look up on their site comes up as “undefined”, but that shouldn’t deter any of you from goin’ to a local Zellers and checking it out for yourself.  The minimal specs that Zellers has up on their site doesn’t make it sound too bad though:
*1366×768 resolution
*has sleep timer
*built-in V-chip, so there’s parental controls
*close captioning display
*dimensions: 95.6 x 21.7 x57 cm
But really, at this price, you get what you pay for, which’ll be an alright LCD for the kids or just to have to running some console games or regular veiwing.  It won’t wow your friends, but will keep them entertained while watchin’ the game or playing some Halo. The regular price is apparently $599.99, so thats a pretty steep discount, and is good till October 17th. I’ll probably have check it out myself.  I might have to make room for one of these.

Dell has a good price for the Palit Radeon HD 3850 with 1GB of GDDR2 memory on it today.  It’s going for $89.99 (Regular price: $149.99).  The manufacturer part number is: AE+38500+HD02, but here is a quick rundown of the specs:
*1024 of GDDR2 memory
*PCI Express 2.0 compliant and x16
*Crossfire Ready
*HDMI, DVI-D, Vga outputs
This would work well in an HTPC setup with the HDMI output for any one with a LCD tv that supports that or DVI-D.  Or if you’re looking for a quick and cheap way to get into a Crossfire set up, two of these would work well in that configuration and provide really decent frame-rates in any of the current crop of DirectX 10 games on the market.  These cards do require two pci slots to be free due to the size of the cooler, so just keep an eye out for that.  The 1GB of on-board memory will really make a difference for running the desktop at high resolution or any games at high res as well.  Yup, not a bad deal at all.

Here’s a recent find: Geeks.com has got a new site up under the concept of 1 Deal a Day, and as they have put it, “One Day, One Item, One AMAZING PRICE!”. And it looks like they have some decent stuff up today: they’ve got a Soyo 26″ 720P Widescreen HDTV LCD for $199.00 (Regular price: $319.99). That is not bad at all. Looks like they’ve got a set of KLH Indoor/Outdoor speakers at The Source today for $33.33 (Regular price: $99.96).  These speakers are weatherized so they can be mounted outside of the house with the packaged mounting hardware and used year around.

This is a hilarious deal at Yugster.com today; they’ve ot a 3.5mm headphone jack splitter for FREE!!! That’s right Free, and all you gotta do is pay for the shipping which is $3.95. Now you can share that ipod or any other portable music player with a buddy, who’s got their own set of headphones. Of all the deals I’ve encountered thus far, this has to be one of the most intriquing. Absolutely “Free” but for the shipping fee, thats just classic. Looks like Compu2000 has got the LG W2242T-PF 22IN Widescreen LCD on sale right now for $179.99. Quite frankly, that is the lowest price that I’ve seen any 22″ LCD go for so far in terms of a brand new product and with a name brand associated to it. And this is a very decent LG as well, with an 8000:1 contrast ratio, and 5MS response time. The going rate for this is around $250 at other retailers, so this is an exception deal if you’re in the market for a high quality 22″ LCD. I got myself a couple of Westinghouse 22″ LCDs for $169 USD during Black Friday last year, but the specs for that don’t even compare to what the LG is capable of.
