Alright, let’s save some money!!

So I’m checkin’ out Apple’s site today, as I like parousing their refurbished ipod section just to see whats up, and what do they have? The 8gb 3rd gen nano for $155 cdn, and I’m thinkin’ “what the hell”. These guys suckered me into a 4gb 2nd gen one last summer for like $169, and plopped that 3rd gen out into the market like two months afterwards. I friggin’ hate these guys, but damn, how do you say no to an 8 gigger that plays movies and gives me 5 hours to watch them and lets me listen to music for 24 hours? Now, I’m sure you’re sayin’ to yourself, “but its a refurb” and some moron probably dropped it or stepped on it or stuck in a wash and dry cycle, and then cried to Apple till they finally gave in and took it back to shut them up, but I can tell ya this much, the refurb I got last year was pristine. The earphones were fresh and sealed, the box was cardboard and plain, but it was flawless outta the box. Apple refurbs their own stuff pretty damn well, and I’ve read stuff about guys gettin’ refurb or reconditioned units from buy.com and pickin’ up adobe virus offa them, but those were apparently done by some third party service that apparently doesn’t know or have heard of the anti-virus software, but I digress… As for the unit that I got last year, hell, it was charged up already to go, and that free shipping ain’t nothin’ to shake a stick at either. I ordered it on a Friday, and it showed up at my door on the following Tuesday. Not bad considering it went from China to California to Winnipeg and then to me.

And while we’re on the subject of free shipping, did any one else catch that smokin’ deal for a Nintendo DS on Dell.ca today? Its like 99 bucks, with free shipping! Are you kiddin’ me? Superstore had that no tax dealie a few weeks back for two days, and had them for like $129.99, but having it delivered to your door for 99 bucks plus gst and pst, thats pretty frickin’ sweet. They got’em in black, white and pink, or as the big N would like to put it, “polar”, “onyx” and, “coral”. Maybe Nintendo is dumpin’ these colours in anticipation of some new colour scheme in the fall or perhaps some fresh new ds hardware (fingers crossed ), but thats an awesome deal, nonetheless.
